We look forward to an afternoon of performances of Canadian compositions and a showcase of our very own 2024 Student Composer Competition winners. Performers are encouraged to introduce themselves and share a short paragraph about their selection to make it a truly informative and celebratory event.
Admission by donation; performers are free of charge with our gratitude

Registration deadline: November 1st
The first 25 registrants will be accepted. We welcome any level and discipline performing solos or ensembles by a Canadian composer. Limit one piece each; ensemble entries can be completed by one individual. Students or their instructors must be MRMTA members in good standing.

Brandon, MB — Celebrate Canadian Musical Heritage at Canada Music Week
The Brandon and Westman Registered Music Teachers' Association is excited to announce the Canada Music Week celebration on Friday, November 22, at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall, School of Music, Brandon University. This tradition unites music enthusiasts nationwide to celebrate Canada's rich musical heritage.
Event Details:
- Date: November 22, 2024
- Master Class: 3:00 PM, Room 1-26, School of Music
- Concert: 7:00 PM, Lorne Watson Recital Hall
Registration Fees:
- Members: $20
- Non-Members: $25
- Master Class & Registration Combined: $35 (Members), $40 (Non-Members)
Adjudicator: Dr. Daniel Tselyakov, Pianist
Participation: This event is open to all Manitoba students of all ages and instruments. Only works by Canadian composers (preferably from Manitoba) will be accepted. Memorization is encouraged but not required. Concert admission is by donation. Complimentary refreshments will be served after the Master Class and Concert.

- 6 Junior Students
